jo: How did you come up with the name of the band?
Snuff: T3CHN0PH0B1A means the fear of technological
development and of everything
that’s futuristic and related to progress: dislike for new technology. We
associated the word to our band name ‘cause, according to our alien concept,
technophobia is the weapon to strike terror inside men and the first step on
a way to mankind destruction. The band moniker is simple to be reminded and
ironic if you consider the genre we play, people could expect absence of
electro-synthetic technology but, after a quick listening, our influences
become clear; and the electronic element in our music is growing song after
song…
The audience will be able to judge it by itself when the new EP, “The
Dancefl-Horror: N.A.S.A. Vs I.N.R.I.” will be released, after this long
summer: cross your hearts an prepare yourselves to a journey inside a dark
dance floor, experiencing the horror. Welcome to the Grave New World!
jo: How long has the band been together and how did you meet?
Snuff: The band was formed by an idea of 5k0tt, Von
Cyberskin and me, in the cold
October of year 2003; we quickly grew up and spread the word about our
music. We were already friends and decided to chase this dream together…
jo: If you could tour with any band who would it be and why?
Snuff: Hard choice! Surely I’d like to tour with
Wednesday 13, Type O Negative,
Cradle of Filth, Deathstars, The Kovenant or any other band I love.
jo: If you could meet anyone, either dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Snuff: My idols are two horror movies directors:
Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci; my
dream is to meet them, to discuss about their art. Mr.Argento is still alive
and I hope to meet him sometimes, somewhere, but unluckily the great Lucio
died many years ago, in 1996: it was a big loss for the worldwide cinema…so
if I have the chance to choose a dead artist I surely pick out him.
jo: If you were invisible for 24 hours, what would you do and why?
Snuff: Invisible? Yay! I’d steal girls’ undies or
stab in the back random people.
jo: One word to describe your music
Snuff: Kickass! Eheheheh
jo: One word to describe each of you
5k0tt: serious
RadikAl 9k: funny
Von Cyberskin: cool
DusTech: rational
Myself: unstable
jo: How did each of you become interested in being a musician?
Snuff: When I was a little child I grew up dreaming
while I was listening to many
Rock and Metal bands, mainly AC/DC, Venom and Motorhead, then I discovered
Sisters of Mercy and Ebm music. Those influences literally forced me to
chase that dream. I can’t stay away from music playing…I wanna be like them!
jo: Favorite song to perform?
Snuff: Behind every song there’s a lot of memories,
I can’t clearly explain the
emotions I feel when I sing them but, surely, my favorite song is “Wrapped
In Eternit”, the catchy song fans like the most. I can remember when we
wrote it, it was the last December in our rehearsal room, everything came
up so naturally, we just played it and I loved that song from the very first
beginning.
And now, for live gigs and for the prospective of a full-length, we improved
it and changed some keyboard and vocal parts…result: p-e-r-f-e-c-t!
jo: Favorite band/artist of all time.
Snuff: It depends on my mood…if I’m sad is Type O
Negative, when I’m reflective The
Sisters of Mercy, if I’m in a party mood Ramones or Frankenstein Drag Queens
From Planet 13/Murderdolls/Wednesday 13 and when I feel myself wicked is
surely Venom.
