Email Interviews w/Jim (lead vocals/guitar) & Dave (bass) of sick AS monday!!

sick AS monday is an alternative band from NY. "Confession" is an awesome song, so go on, check it out! Jim and Dave took the time to answer a few questions for experiencemetal.com via email. Here is what they had to say.

jo: How did you come up with the name of the band?
Jim: We held an online vote and let our fans pick the name out of 3 possible ones, it was really the one we wanted anyway and everyone thought it fit our lifestyle best. Dave: online contest

jo: How long has the band been together and how did you meet?
Jim: About 2 years, I met Dave through a common friend who thought we'd get along, we were both playing in different bands at the time but we clicked right away and almost immediately decided to work together. Paulo answered an online ad we posted for a guitarist by writing "I have long hair and I'm from Brazil, I hope it's not a problem" so I met with him at a bar and 5 hours later we were drunk with a girl doing shots out of his pants, and Dave had known Jimi for a number of years and through different bands and he was helping us with our recording. When the time came to audition drummers he was ready to go. Dave: 2yrs. me and jim met through a mutual friend and got fuckin hammered. paulo answered an add, and we got fuckin hammered. Jimi approached us after seeing us perform with a different drummer who was temporary anyway.

jo: If you could tour with any band who would it be and why?
Jim: Motley Crue back in the 80's, just for the stories. Dave: original guns and roses! no explanation needed

jo: If you could meet anyone, either dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Jim: The guy that invented the inflatable love doll just so I could be like......"dude....?" Dave: Christina Aguilera. so i can turn the mack on!

jo: If you were invisible for 24 hours, what would you do and why?
Jim: Visit a mental institution and mess with the doctors, check out a porn set, and fuck with Dave! Dave:first 10 minutes i would fuck with jim! think of something to make him cry! Then i would get a whole bunch of money. not from anyone who would miss it though. maybe i would fly to vegas and take it from them. those crooked bastards take plenty from us. and since ill be in vegas i could find lots to do with my invisibility. i would be a peeping tom.

jo: One word to describe your music.
Jim: Life Dave: Real

jo: One word to describe each of you.
     Paulo- relaxed        fuckinlazy (1 word)
     Dave- unstable    TORN
     jimi- sweatpants    sweatpants
     myself- stubborn   indecisive

jo: How did each of you become interested in being a musician?
Jim: I saw motley crue's video for girls girls girls and suddenly really wanted a guitar. After that, music was really the only thing that didn't piss me off when I was a kid and it was the easiest way for me to communicate. Dave: i know this is cheezey, but. my sis told me to listen to metallica and they rocked . all her boyfriends listened to metallica and played guitar. and i was just a little weasel to them. so i had to play!!! then i saw some old skid row videos and thought Rachel Bolan was a cool ass mother fucker. so i had to play bass.

jo: Favorite song to perform?
Jim: Hokey Pokey Dave: confession. or tattoo inside

jo: Favorite band/artist of all time?
Jim: Man that's impossible I love so many, the Beatles, Motley Crue, Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Guns N Roses, I can't narrow it to one. Dave: Skid Row
